Somehow a hero is being sent to exile.

Promising concept. The picture looks rather flat though-- maybe you should introduce a landscape? That's one of the main suggestions in the challenge- to show the journey that the traveller must go through- make it epic, make it perilous!

A better view

Staples, thx for the visit. I understand what you mean, but i want to try something different. I want to make spectators dream what is laying behind their sight. Because with this angle of view we can see the exiled hero's homeland, people, equipment and gestures. I want to make spectators figure it out what is waiting by reading the spectators' faces.

What do you think?

Give us some sketches of the faces ....

Then we will know...

great looking concept work so far

cool architecture and character interaction, which were always challenging for me to pull off!

It is good to see you're going 5D on this challenge too. Best of luck to you on both entries! :D I like the story behind your image. Maybe the hero could be exiled because he is in love with the ruler's daughter; you could have her begging at the arm oh her father's thrown.

Matt :)

Thank ya guys, since i am trying to do 5D on this challenge again, i am giving more gas towards the 3D leg this time. So, my 2D competition can be more progressive afterwards the other come into a shape.

Keep connected, or i may warn you whenever i add somethings new.

Here is the last concept for the challenge of Journey.

Please drop comments!!

I expect comparisons.

Hmm. I like both ideas. However, there is a slight issue I could see coming up: the "character in exile" idea might seem a little cliche, if you don't make the picture really, really interesting. (Like the idea about the ruler's daughter.) If you *do*, it could be great! On the other hand, the kids seem like fun and are less common of a theme, as far as I know. However, the "great journey" might be harder to imply. Soo... I guess you should do whichever one you have better ideas for. :) More going on in the background, I think, for either of them. Just to give yourself an edge.

This, of course, coming with the person with the least active concept sketch yet. :P

Hey Levent, the new concepts looks great too! You've put yourself in a tough spot, now you have to choose between two good ideas. I also like the idea of using the children as the adventures going out on a journey. And I think you can convey this in the theme of the challenge very well. Since even the smallest things can seem like an adventure to children. Maybe you need to show why they are embarking though? One of the kids could have lost a ball over the fences, something that shows the necessity of their actions?

Matt :)

Great concept sketches. Little Explorers made me smile the minute I looked at it. Good luck to you!:)

i think both are good but in the little explorers idea if thats a spooky house on the back change it becouse i saw somebody nearly finished that kind of idea. but little explorers are really nice if they explore something that is going to be more epic. if i find that thread with the spooky house i will send you a link maybe you wont share my ideas about the similarity. and good luck with the choice i think deciding after coloring will be healthier.

hey i found the thread:

thats it. :scream:

Great Idea...looks Like A Classic Concept.

Thanks friends, i want to update it.

Individium, you are right, i checked it, there are many similarities. I think i will change it a little, expedition into freaky house must change.

Hey Levent, I was thinking about your entry the other day and came to some ideas. You could possibly replace the haunted house with a drive-in theater. For some reason they seem like they might fit well with the era you've placed the characters. Also you would be free to put whatever you wanted on the screen. The children's journey could be to sneak in to see the movie, but the screen could hint to a much bigger adventure, the one that the audience is taking. Hopefully this makes sense, I am pretty tired now. :p

Matt :)

I did a quick google search for some drive-in reference. I think that you would really only need to change the background, the wall would work well as is.
