here is the sketch...i'm planing to share the concept in some further post because of lack of time right now
03 March 2006, 02:38 PM
...well, the concept is about newly wed couple of sprites. While they take their honeymoon up to the
montains, they will try to plant whole diverse bunch of seeds, because this is the custom.
Every first spring day a couple of sprites unite their consciousness and take a jurney to the
mountains pick, where they merge their bodies, and thus give a birth of a tree.
The way is long...and for the sprites are of importance to achieve plesure, and to prepare
for the general merge at the final.
first of all, i'm trying to build some concept about the composition of the elements existing in the scene, because the most important elements are several and the rest is just a work - detailed work but of secondary importance for the story.
Next to that is time to figure out the colour gamut, which stage right now i'm working on.

Now it's time for the lighting. In this stage very important to me is to set the different sets of lighting for the foreground and for the background.
Acording to our eyes, there are two types of lighting: natural - coming from the sun, and unnatural - coming from artificial light sources. Because the natural light includes light beams from many different frequencies it stands whiter compare to the other one.
In my painting the presentation of this phenomenon can be achieaved by using cold colors for the ambient lighting, and in oppose warm colors for the lighting which would be of unnatural origin. Thus I will try to fullfil warm athmosphere in the foreground while the background stands in colder colors.
The consideration above are coming from the physics arguments. From art point of view the situation would look little different...for example I would say that the warm colors in the frefront of the image are used to acheave such kind of warm athmosphere, and in oppose the background mountain stands cold and crude, because it needs to represent how dificult the journey are going to be...
...well, lets say i'm in the middle of this two positions...
...of course, the purpose of contemporal art is not just to represent a scene in absolutely realistic way, but rather to show to the audience something new...something which can enrich and improve the society. In the past there are many examples for such realistic paintings, but the reason for this is that the society need to proceed through this stage....however this is philosophical matter, and this is not the proper place. Any critics and opinions are very welcome.
