This is my first idea, well, the basic is: this man found a bottle with a message from a lady that he end up falling in love, so he will try to find her.
And thats is just a 5 minutes doodle on my sketchbook to help me on develop the idea.
I like the idea but how are you going to show this? Maybe we could look over the man's shoulder and read the message at the same time he is reading it? Damn, I wished I had thought of that idea before I gave it to you. Oh well, I wish you luck my friend.
P.S. I love that this is an actual photo of your sketchbook!

My first idea is to show him reading the message in the boat and show an island or something on the background. BUT, i just had another idea, and i think i'll try this one. I'll post later some doodles.

Well, i've changed my mind about that message in a bottle theme, and i think in another one. Well, there's a group of mouses, and they will go on a quest to take the "BIG CHEESE". That will be on the refrigerator or on the table, didn't think much about this yet. To get to the "BC" they'll have to cross a maze of mouse traps, and other things, an pass through the big cat of the house.
Their equipament will be stuffs like toothpick, matchstick, dental floss...
All this action will happen in a kitchen, like those 50's kitchens of Tom and Jerry i guess.
This is my first doodle on the mouses, just warming up to start the real thing hehehehe.

I didn't decide yet if will be cartoonish or more realist, i'm thinking on something between both styles. This is just a color test on my early sketch. Rats (mouses? i don't know the difference...) are soo fun.

This is a basic idea of the overall scene. Is lacking so much yet, but just to help me going on with this...there's some major perspective issues...the cat and the furniture on the background will be very blured i guess...well it's just a sketch to help me thinking.
I want to make that look like it's very far from the mouse "cheese attack" team, that will try to pass through the kitchen and reach the One cheese. And they got a long journey through the mouse traps, cats and other things that i'm thinking on.

This was going to be my first contest I entered, but I had the same exact ideal and I mean the same exact thing. With the mouse traps and cats, but I think the only difference it that there goal was a big wheel of cheese. Good luck.

I like the idea very much. If it would be my painting, I would try to give it a naturalistic look, not so much cartoony. Maybe You could think more about the general composition, right now it's a little simple. Too much symmetric imho. Both mice are nearly of the same size, the cat is sitting exactly in the center ot the pic and so on. The theme gives You so many opportunities. Maybe some mice could lourk around the corner, some could be afraid to step out of the safety of ther hole, some could pretend to be very, very brave...
Weel, it's Your idea, so keep on with it, I'm looking forward to see more of this  !
