Welcome to the challenge!
Good luck and have fun :)
03 March 2006, 03:39 AM
This is just a warmup. (45 min-1 hour) I don't have a great idea yet. But here you go. A little boy lost in a mysterious jungle. Maybe an alien planet? who knows.
03 March 2006, 03:58 AM
Nice Sketch dude, I really love it hehe!
03 March 2006, 04:57 AM

03 March 2006, 05:58 AM

03 March 2006, 07:15 AM
very cool idea!
03 March 2006, 08:39 AM
good luck emrah
03 March 2006, 08:47 AM
Nice concept! For some reason the forum thumbnail reminded me of Monkey Island, haha. That can only be a good thing!
As for the picture- maybe have him holding something suggesting a journey or maybe more debris or something...really make him look like he's just arrived. It almost looks like he's come into an area of the forest and is surprised by something he sees there...like what...? If you add more stuff, it'll make it clearer that he just (crash) landed!
03 March 2006, 10:59 AM
the values on the figures are spot on - it will be a joy to watch this unfold!
03 March 2006, 11:07 AM
cool warm up sketch! i like it a lot!
03 March 2006, 06:19 PM
Thanks for the comments guys. I'll update soon.
03 March 2006, 11:44 PM
like green color.. good luck to you!)
03 March 2006, 12:18 AM
Good so far.. I agree with the comment about more debris from the wreacked spaceship. Maybe a path off into the jungle to better suggest a journey? How about some evil yellow eyes in the brush to get him thinking about not staying too long?
03 March 2006, 11:46 PM
Thanks for the comments. I'll keep these in mind.
03 March 2006, 04:35 AM
iyi sanslar!! Good luck!
03 March 2006, 04:55 PM
Looking foward to see another great work! good luck Emrah :)
03 March 2006, 09:18 AM
I'm thinking on some ideas. This is not the greatest idea i have but what the hell. Here you go. A man is going to work in a retro futuristic world. 30 min sketch. Maybe i can sketch the same idea in an alien world. More sketches coming soon. cheers
03 March 2006, 09:21 AM
I really love this sketch! Very nicely done! Nice to see retro and futuristic design come together!! Though I don't think it's all that original, which is a shame, since the sketch is very nice...!!
Can't wait to see more from you!
03 March 2006, 09:45 AM
excellent concept and great colors. Maybe the car is a little too big. Otherwise I really like it.
03 March 2006, 09:48 AM
Wow great colors!
I used to admire your drawings, now, I have to admire your paintings as well.
03 March 2006, 11:38 AM
Zycho - Thanks for your comments. Yea, i can not talk about originality in this sketch. I'm just opening my mind for further ideas. I'll keep sketching.
authentic - Thanks. Yea the car is a bit big i guess. No worries though:)
KOryH - Kory! My man! I still remember the day that you colored my sketch. It was great. Glad you dropped by. You're going really well in this challenge. Hope you can finish. Thanks for your comments and take care.
03 March 2006, 11:50 AM
as always your colour and lighting are excellent... .. dunno if i remeber rightly but i think you were not among the winners of the grand space opera.. i think you were robbed... an absolutly brilliant entry i thought and i cant wait to see what you come up with this time
03 March 2006, 12:15 PM
that "atmospheria" name sure fits u like a glove dude, great sketch again
03 March 2006, 12:34 PM
Wow! -Even if you feel the concept is not the greatest -the sketch is sublime! It makes your idea fascinating! Your use of colour blows me away! Are you a fan of Lorenzo Mattotti (http://www.mattotti.com/)? Your use of colour really reminds me of his work- and hes gotta be one of the greatest exponents on the use of colour. Keep up the good work! I cant wait to see where you go with this!
03 March 2006, 01:03 PM
I agree with Selina, the mood of your image is fantastic, your choice of colors will make the difference.
03 March 2006, 10:49 PM
Lovely sketch (last one), 30 min. wow! Great colors in it..
Wouldn't it be cool the taxi is an airplane that's waiting for him to board?
03 March 2006, 10:50 PM
Great style and colours in the last one, hope you take it forwards
03 March 2006, 11:12 PM
great ideia! & sweet sketch
03 March 2006, 12:49 AM
Great idea! I think it will be a masterpiece again as usual:thumbsup:
03 March 2006, 02:53 AM
Ha! I love it. Gives me a total Bill Plimpton feeling for some reason. I like the color combination. I'd zoom in on the main characters a little.
03 March 2006, 03:17 AM
Your new concept is definitely an improvement, your drawing style is unique from what I can see. Keep it up!
03 March 2006, 05:00 AM
looks good. A suggestion: how about giving the image an old fashioned look like the 50īs pin ups something like that:http://www.bawidamann.com/gallery/galleries_oldschoolpinup.html
good luck and keep the good work!!
03 March 2006, 07:43 AM
I really love the painterly feel of this one. Keep it up!
03 March 2006, 11:05 AM
W!L - Thanks man. Yea, i wasn't among the winners. :( But i hope to get a runner up at least this time. We'll see.
Squibbit - Hehe:) Thanks Squib!
Selina42 - Thanks for your comments. I don't know Lorenzo Mattotti, but now i know. Thanks alot.
Ramitxon - Thanks alot. Really appreciated.
MichaelMotion - Thanks. Actually he's going to work so i don't think that i would draw a plane there, but thanks for the idea anyway.
BaronImpossible - Thanks baron. Glad you dropped by.
renderwhite - Thank you!
Velarion - Thank you. I hope so
marcoracer - Thanks for your comments. I'l put more details on the characters in the next sketch. And maybe i can use them bigger.
slickgreekgeo - Hey, thanks. Appreciated.
bandro - Thanks for your comments. I don't know if i can go with a highly stylised technique like the ones in your link that you gave. I'm more into realistic painting. I'll see what i can do.
Louieville - Thanks.
03 March 2006, 11:26 AM
Hey dude, nice stuff so far  It's great to see your work again, good luck man:bounce:
03 March 2006, 01:42 PM
Hi, I like very much your sense of color and your renderings. Keep it up and good luck!
03 March 2006, 04:11 PM
OoooooOOh! I like! I like!
Has a Jetsons feel to it!
Look forward to it's development!
03 March 2006, 11:09 PM

03 March 2006, 11:16 PM

anilduran - thanks my brother!
grobouk - thanks
03 March 2006, 08:36 AM
Cool! I really like the colours in that last one. And the car's great... I want one!
How about having actual contact between the couple? A kiss on the cheek perhaps?
03 March 2006, 11:48 PM
Hey mate,I love the 1st sketch you done, that shows very clear the journey begins, and better way to show the expression of the characters.
03 March 2006, 12:08 AM
I agree with everyone else here: lovely lush colors!
That piece reminds me a lot of jack vettriano's stuff:
03 March 2006, 11:47 PM
Something new. I'm trying to find some different ideas but still didn't decide on something. Here's a possible environment that i can use in my entry. Still thinking...
03 March 2006, 03:40 AM
I hope to see u do stick with something, or u might end up like squib with a bunck of sketches for his entries, LOL! Really nice sketches though!:arteest:
03 March 2006, 08:18 AM
beelow - Well, yea but i should do sketches before finding a theme. I don't know how many that i'm going to do but it's gonna take some time :) But i hope not so much time. hehe. Thanks for your comment.
03 March 2006, 09:06 AM
I absolutely adore the lighting on the floating blocks, esp. the left one!
03 March 2006, 12:04 PM
i loved the atmosphere of the last concept! :)
03 March 2006, 04:47 PM
Mr. Mu, Vader - Thanks for your commnets.
03 March 2006, 04:57 PM
Ah, didn't see you entered; great to see you here Emrah! keep on sketching, you'll find your idea; they are all great so far anyway :)
03 March 2006, 10:36 AM

<tr> kolay gelsin </tr>
03 March 2006, 06:05 PM
yeha hurry it up mate.. cant wait to see what your choose...!
03 March 2006, 04:41 PM
Hi Elmasli, nice concept, i like that,,,and welcomeback:scream:
03 March 2006, 12:27 AM
Ok guys and gals, i think i'm slowly getting there. I've found my theme. Inspired from my 2nd sketch. An alien planet, they are sending a youngling to a big journey to explore the other galaxies. Interesting alien outfits, different designs. Totally alienish designs. This sketch is just the idea part. There will be more characters. Almost a "big crowd". Kind of a ceremony. I think the next step is line art. :) At last.
03 March 2006, 12:45 AM
hehe, very nice concept! and funny too :)
03 March 2006, 03:17 AM
well is a nice concept....waiting for progress:bounce:
03 March 2006, 04:44 AM
cant wait to see it develop... great stuff
03 March 2006, 05:08 AM
aliens theme would be very interesting to go with, keep it coming man:)
03 March 2006, 05:40 AM
Aliens, cool! It would be cool to add a little more humor in this one, good luck with getting something established!
03 March 2006, 10:30 AM
Dominus - i don't know if it's funny but thanks:)
melkao - thank you
W!L - thanks, i'll update soon
sh@ke - yea, i think so. gonna see what can do to keep it more interesting
beelow - thanks man. i don't know about the humour factor but i'll see what i can do
03 March 2006, 10:22 PM
Here's the alien that i'm gonna use in my theme. The known "Sectoid" concept. Bu in my taste and colors. I'll also design some different outfits for them. The next step will be the line art and the general composition. Take care for now.
03 March 2006, 11:39 PM
Amazing lighting and brush tecniques good work my friend...
03 March 2006, 12:10 AM
Nice alien concept Emrah. One crit, the scene seems a little lucid right now. By that I mean that the main character seems like he is waiting for something that might not come. I think if you open the doors where the aliens are standing it will convey a more climactic and dramatic message. Looking foward to more work.
03 March 2006, 12:50 AM
amazing translucency in your aliens. can't wait to see what this becomes.
top notch work!
one thing in the composition is that maybe a camera angle closer to that of the young alien would allow us to see more from his perspective. feels a bit detached from the high angle.
03 March 2006, 03:45 AM
the last update mast wicked. very Carlos Huante like... I LOVE IT!
03 March 2006, 08:17 AM
Damn your sketching is good.
The last idea is so excellent... but, it may be hard to imbue it with human emotion since they're... well aliens. :) Maybe you'll have to cheat it a bit, and use anthropomorphic 'tricks' to help us empathize with the character.
03 March 2006, 08:25 AM
excellent stuff, dude! Good to have you in the challenge again!
03 March 2006, 08:28 AM
Very nice sketch Emrah! I like this typical alien design, cool face :)
03 March 2006, 08:34 AM
that really so impossible sketch.:scream:
lighting and skining so good bro.we can see the a half transperency SSS skin and the other details on your alien...
Especially its mouth has a different style.
go on brother...
03 March 2006, 08:35 AM
the specular, highlight on their eyes makes them look so alive, can they smile?
03 March 2006, 02:53 PM
Wow! amazing aliens...great drawing!
03 March 2006, 03:08 PM
Interesting concept for the aliens, very well done for a sketch....bu you donīt think you could create something beyond the usual aliens we see many times? I donīt know what r u thinking about the final image, and please, donīt feel bad about my question, is just a thought I had and wanted to share with you. anyway, all is looking good. congrats
03 March 2006, 08:06 PM
-tolga- - Thanks mate. Glad you dropped by. Cheers
britt - Thanks britt. I know what i mean but this is not the actual composition. It was just a warm up for the main compo. I'm working on the main one now. Hope i can post it soon. Cheers
anzibon - thanks for your comments. As i told to britt too, it's not the actual composition. I'm working on the main compo, so check back soon:)
Slav - Glad you liked it man. Thanks for the compliment :D
Stahlberg - Good to see you here Steven, glad you liked the idea. That is what i was thinking about. I'll surely use some anthropomorphic 'tricks' as you said, to make the image warmer and more epic. Maybe the young alien with his mother and father or stuff like that. Thanks for dropping by man. You're going really great too.
Squibbit - thanks dude. good to see you too.
rawwad - thank you. very appreciated.
anilduran - thank you mate. glad you liked it. I'm gonna use some different outfits on this typical alien design. So it's gonna be more interesting.
sh@ke - thank you dude. I don't know, maybe they can smile too. :)
melkao - thanks
Gus_clifton - thanks for your comments. Well, it's all on purpose that i'm using the classic alien design. My idea is a view from their side, not the human side. Seeing the classic aliens from their view. Thats why i use them. The most know alien design. It won't make a sense if i design a different creepy alien. I will go with this dude instead. Thanks for your suggestion though.
03 March 2006, 12:14 AM
Some more alien doodles. Trying to find interesting shapes for their tools and control panels. I don't know if i'm going to use these in my compo though. Anyway, here you go.
03 March 2006, 03:56 AM
I like some of those textures in those paintings dude, really nice concepts keep it up dude!
03 March 2006, 10:33 AM
beelow - thanks dude. Appreciated.
03 March 2006, 11:51 AM
Great work man, can't wait to see where you go with this....
03 March 2006, 12:57 PM
love the way you paint... try to get that similiar feel with mine.. but it always looks rough no matter how long i work on it.. then i get jaded. the red things loook like floating scarfs. not sure about them at all.. but keep working on em..
03 March 2006, 06:30 PM
damn man! ur rendering technique is even here in the sketch phase just fantastic! I hope that this time the jury will notice ur great skills. keep up the great work!
03 March 2006, 06:55 PM
wow emrah...thats a really cool drawing and sketching....
03 March 2006, 07:17 PM
hehe great aliens :) I love it ! keep it this way !
Good luck ! I'll keep an eye on ya !:scream:
03 March 2006, 09:44 PM
yAdam - thanks man.
W!L - Thank you for your comments. Flying scarfs? Man you've some neat imagination power:) They are some floating consoles. But yea, they are rough. So it's normal that you didn't get it. Thanks ayway.
NinjaASSN - Thank you man. I really appreciate it. I hope i can do some good art so the jury will notice it if i have the luck.
melkao - Thank you
-KiD- - Thanks dude
03 March 2006, 11:28 AM
o i got what they are supposed to be.. i just said they LOOK like floating scarfs.. but i know just a sketch.... lets see some more.
03 March 2006, 06:52 PM
ha~friend~cool idea and awesome color~:buttrock:
03 March 2006, 10:06 AM
Great idea Emrah!
The little fella with the suitcases a couple of pages back is just great!
We always seem to see 'earthlings' heading off to other planets, so it's great to see that subverted and get an alien perspective. I can't wait to see where it goes...
04 April 2006, 06:43 PM
This was supposed to be the lineart but it's far from it. Kind of a composition sketch. I'm worrying about the ship on the background. Didn't like the design of it. Maybe i'm going to change it. Let me know what you think...
04 April 2006, 06:57 PM
great designs. i think i prefer the scetch with the young alien and his suit cases. It's easier to understand than your latest scetch. I do like the composition of the latest one though. It feels a lot more grand. Maybe the ship could be clearer. Initially i thought it was a buiding. Very promising though. keep it up.
04 April 2006, 05:13 AM
domclubb - hey, thanks for the reply. The first one with the suitcases was just a warmup actually. The main composition must be more dynamic and crowded. So, i'm working on this one. Yea, the ship needs some attention. Thanks.
04 April 2006, 07:19 AM
Great stuff so far dude. I think this composition could work really good...maybe one of the alien characters can look behind like a one last look before the great journey..
04 April 2006, 12:48 AM
Good luck mate :)
04 April 2006, 08:52 AM
yarışmada iyi şanslar,
good luck with the challenge, all the stuff for now seems really cool
04 April 2006, 03:06 PM
Nice update my friend!...keep going:bounce:
04 April 2006, 01:21 PM
taz23 - Thanks for your comments dude. That's a good idea actually but i though that the guy who's going to make the jorney is the guy in the middle. He's alone. But your idea is cool too. There can be a crew of aliens. Nice...thanks for the idea.
elnady - thanks man.
cgoz - Thanks. Really appreciated.
melkao - thank you.
05 May 2006, 11:53 AM
