This is my first time joining a challange. I'll try my best and hopefully finish the piece on time.
Opinion and Crit are strongly welcome! :P
I wanna make a fairy tale kind romanticism scene. i'll just keep the character design simple and put more effort on building up the emotion/atmosphere. Here is a wild fairy sketch.

I like the sketch but I am unclear on the concept. What kind of journey are your characters on?

this is definitely a sexy and cute fairy from her facial expression,I can see a story behind
,keep it up bro.!! show us more:)

REally cute fairy. She has anger in her eyes though. Good that she already has emotions even in the concept sketch.
I'm into the fairies/elves world as well for this challenge. good luck to you!

i should have posted the concept and the sketch at the same time so u know what im doing.
my concept is smiple, a wild fairy and her friends are going on a journey looking for a new place/home, b/z their old place is about to be destroyed by pollution/garbage deposit.
the emotion of the characters and the atmosphere in this scene are what i concern the most, so even on the sketch i wanna depict their expression carefully, u can see anger in the fair's eyes b/z she is forced to leave and has no choose, a little sad at the same time.
i will start the sketch of the whole scene today and hopefully post it tomorrow.
this is my first time to do this kinda topic so i really cant imagine what the final is gonna look like (if i can finish it on time :P)

i love the fairy sketch, but then, i've always been a sucker for fairies. i think that your concept will work fine. looking forward to seeing more from you on this.

smiple arrangement following some smiple rules.
this compositon is not exactly what i want, e.g. i want the group to face the audience more to describe the action...i'll find the best output when i do rendering.

the main light direction,
sorry i dont have a wacom and use mouse to draw these ugly lines XD... hope u understand

a wild fairy and her friends begin thier journey of finding a new place, b/z their old place is about to be destroyed by pollution.
some story background:
wild fairies are planter and protector of seed, they have good relationship with insect and dislike human.
the home of the wild fairy is a special plant planted by the fairy itself. when the plant/home is about to die it creats a seed and let the fairy to plant it somewhere else as a new home. :P

Nice sketch...good luck
03-09-2006, 03:20 AM
That is a great concept painting  and I like your character design too. Her sadness is coming through nicely but the journey part could be stronger in the concept. Maybe show something in the background to describe the story more. Good luck with this.
03-09-2006, 04:46 AM
that concept is great. i really hope you can keep the lighting and the feel in the final version. the airbrushing in the concept gives it a softness that you should work hard at in the modeling and lighting.
keep it up

really nice sketches you created... nice concept, looking forward for your 3d steps :applause:
