View Full Version : Animating volumetric lighting

02 February 2006, 11:57 PM
Hi, im currntly working on a project where i would like rays of light reacting to music. Its for a audio visual porject im conducting at uni.

i ask, how can i get the effect im looking for. its just bursts of light chasing around the screen. I been told volumetric lighting can handle this kind of job. But learning how is somthing not really coveered in any books i have on lightwave.
If anyone uses a mac, the default screen saver is the kind of affect im after. (sorry, thought id try and give an example here)

Any ideas anyone?

Maybe animate the light and turn on motion blur...

If you find a part of the light which you want to animate and it has an E (envelope) option the you can click this and in the graph editor panel that opens select the modifiers tab and then add the modifier Audio Channel, set the scale to something useful and you are good to go
