View Full Version : Tutorials on making Clothes in Maya.

02 February 2006, 06:59 AM
I am using Maya at the moment, I made an anime character for myself (just to test out my abilities), I was wondering, what are some good methods to get started on creating clothing for my character. I am looking for tutorials or guides that could help me on my way. Because this is giving me a big headache and is driving me up the wall.

Thanks in advance.

Then again, if you have the chance I suggest you get your hands on Syflex or something of the like right away as Maya Cloth is just horrible to work with :)

any other good cloth plug-ins?? because there is no way in HELL that mi gonig to pay 2000 bucks for Syflex lol.

for now, I will just stick with polygons, if I want a cloth effect, I will add a "make object soft" effect or something, it shouldnt be that hard anyway.

Thanks for all of your imput guys, I am almost done my character.

just an update, my anime character is finally done, however there are two things that I will do (and it wnt take long eaither).

They are:

1) colouring (ie UV texturing)

2) setting up my model to animate and do cool stuff.

I will keep this post updated as I progress.

and once again, thaks for all of your help.
