Well, what im thinking about is to show that life always struggles to grow up no matter what disaster has happened, and so im thinking on a broken, burnt, almost destroyed robotic arm, laying on a wasteland and holding in its hand a seed (or nut) from within it sprangs a flower.

Time to sketch i guess.

I'm doing some robot as well, but have no time to sketch yet!

Good luck! :)

Ok, late as usual, here are a couple of rough sketches.

The first one shows the general idea, that ill polish over the 3rd stage, no doubt, as actually is very simple, and still im not confident on the direction the sprout should take, because i want to use the diagonals to show stress and try to center the flower (an orchid-like one that ill "grow" in a manner that might remind of a bird-phoenix) in one of the hot-spots of the image.
The second one is a rough studio on the articulated joints that drive the robot hands fingers. Though im not planning on model them usable for animation, i like to design things that seem at least feasible. ( (
