Ok. juggling stuff again but I really want to try this one. I think Roshin may be joining me and as usual, the plans are bigger than the timeframe:) .

Here's a small test with TG. I wish I could animate the surface but it's quite good for ideas on how the water reacts.

I'm still playing around with realflow but not happy with the output so far.

Experimenting with layers.
Still need to tackle the environment aspect etc but I'm happy with the depth of the effect and the apparent light through the water. obviously in the final effect, you wouldn't see the over lapping edges.
I'm thinking this method may be useful for shore breakers as well? (

Yep, sign me up boss! As you know my new machine is arriving soon, but the old box should have enough grunt left to get some descent work done yet. Hit me offline with some concept or storyboard and I'll get started ASAP.

Ok - messing with the open ocean section of this. Here's one of the variations so far although I'm still not happy with the specular property of the water yet.
This is only about 1.9MB and a little over compressed.

hey this is really looking good so far :thumbsup: , the only crit is that it looks a little dusty but then about half way through on the lower left you have small part of ocean that looks ok, has a part of specularity coming though. If you can achieve that with the rest, I think it would be a big improvment

Here's one that's getting close to the finished item. (Minus particles for spray.)

There isn't much spec becuase of the environment but the compression seems to be stripping a bit of the definition. Will post more when the spray is done.

Now I need to start work on the ship and the beach :-)
