Hi everybody. I actually finished my website and found a provider with a big traffic volume so I can post this music video done in the third term at The German Film School. It’s about a ship, driving through a big dull city .The places it cross on his way get colored. I hope you enjoy it. :)

.:mpg:. (22,7mb) (http://treal.de/projects/the_go_find/OverTheEdge.mpg)
.:mirror:. (mov;29,5mb) (http://www.morrmusic.com/thegofind.html)

First of all we made a lot of photos, after we selected the best, they were coloured in Photoshop. The Photoshop-Layers were animated with masks in After Effects.

The music is from a band called "The Go Find". It is from the album "miami", the song is called "over the edge". More info you can find on http://www.thegofind.com/

The video was made by:
Tobias von Burkersroda, Michael Finke, Michael Fricke, Tobias Horvath, Tobias Lauterbach, Christoph Liebsch, Paul Schicketanz, Max Stöhr

Very Cool! The boat moving trought the pictures gives the video a lot of movement even though they are stills. The colors are great and the music is pretty good too. Everything works really well.

Very nice video. The design of the whole piece is fitting with the electro-pop genre of the song. The only thing that bugged me is sometimes the animation of the boat and graphics were TOO smooth. Usually in motion graphics people apply a sort of framerate threshold so it has more of a video/film feel to it. The fact that the still looked too much like still cheapened the quality of the video a bit in my opinion. You COULD have filmed a still shot using a tripod but maybe you had to compromise for hard drive space's sake?

Besides that it was enjoyable and lighthearted and I think it serves its purpose well. The animations with the graphics spreading across the imagery got better and better as the video progressed.
If you want to check out a similar video, look for "Grammy Winners" by Funkstörung (video manufactured by Designer's Republic).

Good job!

thx, I'm glad that you like it

Couldn't finde the Funkstörung video, all links to "Grammy Winners" are broken :(. Thx for the critic you are right with the TOO smooth animation. The reason for it was a tough deadline. We had to create the whole video in two weeks.
