I think the normal map should be a little more pronounced, there doesn't seem to be that much depth to the edges around the crate.

The very edges of the crate are worn down to silver, but the rest of it is rusty. I would make the worn down creases/edges less bright; they look kind of odd right now.

agree about that normal mapp not adding enough, is it phtotoshopped. think it would look nice to add some screws bolts or latches or something, how do you get in it?

Yes i agree about the nm, it was actually made in maya, but the !"#"#%&//(()!! 'n surface sampler just didn't wan to work properly, it seems there were something wrong with my very advanced cube?! ;P Maya is good at not making things work that SHOULD work... i'll have a look at it again. Thanks!

And good point about the worn down edges... gonna look at it again.

I agree with the people that said it needs more....right now it just looks like a really simple crate. If you put some more work into that normal map, you could make a crate look....interesting. If you can make a crate look interesting then your good :D

How about making it so you can open it and see the es inside it...but I dont know what kind of poly count your tryin to stay under or anything.
