View Full Version : Save animation using scripts

I am trying (without much success) to either write or find a script that will save an animation routine and play it back later. I would ideally like to be able to save multiple animations.

For instance, I'd like to be able to animate a character (bones but biped preferred) say walking or jumping, then save the animation in a script. The script should have a control panel with say 4 or 5 save boxes and corresponding play/load boxes.

I know there is easier ways to do this in Max without using scripts.I'm trying to use scripts as a bit of an experiment. I dont have much script experience but I'm sure this can be done.

To simplify things can the following be done?
I start with a sphere at 0,0,0. I move the sphere 10 units along the X axis. Next I store this movement/animation in a script. Then I reset the sphere back to 0,0,0. When I run the saved animation the sphere will automatically go to 10,0,0. (or what ever value is stored in the script)
I have created the user interface (

I have spent ages looking on the net without much sucess

Any help on this would be great
