Hey everyone!

I've been working with this for the last few weeks. Done entirely with Cinema4D - no post work. Used boxmodeling w/ hypernurbs, some loft, sweep and extrude nurbs, some poly/pointmodeling and a lot of primitives. Rendered without radiosity. I used some pictures from redlinesnowmobiles.com as a reference but made some changes.

A bigger/better res render is available here: http://www.hut.fi/~vhautala/sled170k.jpg

Comments please!

the back treads look fake. everything else is photorealistic. great job.

Wow impressive! How did you make the paint look so real???

Looks great! Just noticed one thing, the "drive belt" is floating above the snow as if the snow was rock hard. It doesn't look realistic. Try, with some PShopping, to make it seem as if the snowmobile and especially the belt has sunk into the snow.
Snow is soft, I know, live in a snowy part of the world and I've seen a few hundred of snowmobiles too! :D

Ditto, tone it down alittle or make it a super dull black, no shineness. Other than that its amazing. Very good for Cinema, might one wonder how long that took to render?

its tooo good! besides the other crits, such as the grey shadow, and the snow being too hard...i think your ski-doo is too sharp for its environment, if you look at the snow just below the front skis, its not that sharp, the quality of the photo should match the quality of the render, but thats not concerning the great modelling, its just a final touch i think...so great work!:applause:
