Hey I was woundering what was the best way to get 3d into flash?? I have maya and I have played with swift 3d. Is there an alterative out there?? Thanx :)

I think Vectra3D and Flix are the others. Don't forget that LightWave has a swf export plugin, although not the greatest in keeping your file sizes down...

Nevermind about Flix, that's just used to put video into Flash. MX does that now so that's not needed anymore. Look into Swish too though.

you could also cut and paste images out of premiere and get more television like quality.

Isn't there a plugin for rendering out swf:s from maya? If not render out jpeg:s import them into flash and you have there.
If the pictures is named something like "myPict0001.jpg, myPict0002. jpg, ..." flash will detect them all.

cool thanx for the replies. Which do you guys think is better vecta 3d or swift 3d??

Take your movie, turn it into an avi, mov or anything and simply import it, that will keep file size down. I have yet to see any of the 3d flash plugins and programs reduce the file size for real animation. Best bet is make your moive, cartoon render it and then import into flash
