View Full Version : Realistic Laser beam simulation?

01 January 2006, 10:30 PM
Hello, i wounder if anyone have any tip. on what kind of light, and settings
i should use to be able to render a realistic and correct laserbeam and how it bends
throue glass, or other material where i have the correct refraction index.

The goal is to be able to visualise how light bends throue diffrent materials.
I have tried with a spotlight and mentalray. (caustics on) but the spotlight seams to spread the light. and as it hits the glas object with refraction index(1.5) nothing much happends. i want the light to be strong enough as a laser so i can se the whole path it travels beyond the prism.

Any ideas or experince of this task?
