View Full Version : Rain Splashes (reacting with the ground)

I went through some tutorials and I know there are different ways of creating rain, but is AE capable of allowing the rain to hit the ground and have it stop/splash up? (when watching real rain, I noticed it splatters slightly when it hits the ground)

3D is the best Option, you it would need an operator who indicated the contact of the particle with layer (ground) and later he created a secondary particle spray, i find that only with plugins

You might try to do the falling rain in one composition and the splashing effect in another. The splashes won't line up with the individual drops, but with lots of rain nobody will notice. To get really acurate with it you'd have to use a full 3d package.

Does anybody know a good tutorial to simulate random splashes?
