View Full Version : image search on cgtalk

yesterday i was looking for an image and had the following idea: an image search which respects the words used in the topic or the post (since images cannot have any title) and show the image posted in the post or all images posted in the topic.
since cgtalk is strongly based on visual content a search option like this is a must-have, i think.
what do you think?

I think Ballistic would have to double their number of servers to handle the image loading... :hmm:

on the other hand, most pictures are loaded from other sites/ftp-space, would those also stress cgtalk's bandwidth?

Hugely important idea! Would be wonderful to conduct a search resulting in thumbnailed images similar to Google's Image search feature only words in a CGSociety thread or keywords associated with an image by its creator. (Currently searches result in a list of threads through which one must click to see their associated images -- often not of the sort desired. Thumbnailing would dramatically quicken a search.)
