View Full Version : WIP: Dome-0 Prototype

I'm working on a poly car, primarily for rigging and texturing. I'll appreciate if you guys can critique on my modelling. I'd really like to improve my modelling skills.
Here we go:
Perspective View, smoothed
Perspective View, unsmoothed
Persepctive Rear view, smoothed
Persepctive Rear view, unsmoothed.
So far, about 3.5hrs for the mainbody, plus an hour plus tweaking this baby after realizing the 1/24 scale model's details are so much different from the reference pictures.
There's a N-gon in the forward wheel area; will be removed once I get down to laying in the guide lines. I hope :)

Minor updates, I think this is it for the low-poly cage. Next step will be ring-> connect the necessary regions for details.
I know, not as fasinating as other cars, but this is one of my favourites :)

Here's my latest update. Minor stuff, mostly tweaks and I've begun cutting in extra lines for the details.
Kinda messy. Hope to clear it up as it goes along!

More updates! Been busy last few days, didn't get much done here.
Right side of the car will have some stuff modelled seperately since this car isn't symmetrical.

Coming along great. The dome is such an interesting looking vehicle.

More progress on the vehicle. I've now put in some of the.... guide lines (what do you call them?) so the mesh looks ok when smoothed. Only the front of the vehicle has been worked on, I'm now working on the mid section and rear.

I have finally finished the Dome Zero model, textured and composited into a photograph. I don't think I will be posting it in the finished 3d gallery though. Please view it here:
And if you are interested in the compositing:
