Hey ppl. I wanna get myself a mobile workstation and here is what i came up with, so if u guys could take a look and maybe give me more direction ... Thank you !

I dont know, it doesnt say exactly... ill have 2 go and check it out ...


?? Is the AMD 64 fx57 not better than AMD 64 X2 ??

Im wana use it for CG animation, modelling, render, texturing, editing, gaming ect.
Programs like MAYA, MAX, ADOBE ect.

Hi! Well, I don´t know if I´m really qualified to answer you, since I asked almost the same question myself.... (you can see my thread: "Traditional animator needs advice") but what I´ve heard is that if you need to work on Cg animation the most important thing is the graphic card, and I´ve heard nVidia Quadro is better than nVidia GeForce... but it´s just something I´ve learnt around, I can´t say for sure

?? Is the AMD 64 fx57 not better than AMD 64 X2 ??
For CG work in general, no. Why? Because the X2 is dual core and will offer MUCH better rendering performance.

As for graphics cards, that depends on the 3D app you use. Quadro cards are good, but if your app of choice doesn't utilize the power, a Quadro is a big waste of money.
