I have a few questions as follows:

(1) What kind of strategies shall I follow to set up the lights? If I want to model a scene in reality, shall I just set up the lights as those actual light sources and just fine-tune their attributes to achieve wanted effects?

(2) I'v heard about some called "3 point lighting". It seems to be a basic lighting technique. Are there any other lighting techniques commonly used?

If you have any good tutorials/fundamentals of lighting, please feel free to post here. Thanks a lot!
