Iím really stuck; I need to create complex tilling textures, for a game environment I am building,
I have 256x256 pixels in full rgb color to play with, the things causing me the biggest problems are:
1. the sky: I intend to create a 2 layered sky with semi transparent clouds scrolling across it using opp maps (medal of honor style see second mission) but I cant figure out how they manage to do it so well, with no evidence of tiling.
2. Floors and walls: I need to learn how to get texture to look like itís not tiling but look like really complex stonework, and do it really well.
Iím hand painting everything and am not apposing to using photos (retouched) to enrich the final result...
The soft wear I use is max 4 and Photoshop 6.
Basically I need to learn a whole lot about tiling texture, so if anyone can give advice or teqniques or even tell me how this in normally achieved in games,, or know of a few good tuts or industry secrets, please let me know,,,
I have to do this thing fast, to allow time 4 the painting and meet the deadlineÖ
