View Full Version : Photoshop Batch Saving

I've been scanning in alot of slides recently using a canon scanner, and Scangear CS. This program passes the image to Photoshop which I must then save individually, which is quite tedious, and so I tried creating an action so I could batch save them. I have a problem though, the action overwrites images without asking me, and so it is very easy to overwrite a whole folders worth of pictures if I forget to change the filename. Is there any way in which I can get photoshop to warn me if any files are going to be overwritten, or generate a filename that will be unique?

In the Batch dialog box under File Naming use Document Name + mmddyy + extension. This way each batch will have a unique number based upon the date it was scanned. This, of course, won't work all that great if you do multiple batches per day.
