View Full Version : "Freezing" Impasto repeatedly?

I was going through the Painter IX docs and I think I'm missing something. What I'm looking for is a way to capture the way light shines on the height relief Impasto layer. Say I have a selection where I have a raised ball shaped stroke with the surface lighting "sun" at the top. I'd like to drop, collapse, freeze, or whatever you'd like to call saving the way the light reflects off that raised paint stroke. Then I want to move the surface lighting sun to a different angle to get a new light play on a different Impasto paint stroke, say one that is a long groove. The light/shadow/shading angles would all be different. As far as I can tell, the "Drop" command doesn't work for this, and I don't know where else to look. Anyone have any ideas? I surely don't want to use the "Print Screen" hack to copy and paste screen sized sections together. That would get old in a hurry working at print resolutions!
