View Full Version : Low Poly Blue Bird

This little guy is being developed for a 3d shockwave game for young kids. I have set a poly limit of 200, its sitting at 166 as a finished model. as for the texture Im currently working on it. I plan to add alpha to the wings and the tail to define the feathers. I was thinking of using alpha around the profile of the bird to break up the box like shape. the feet were blocked out with texture late yesterday. I plan to improve the repeat and add more detail overall tooday. I will post updates. any thoughts would be most appreciated

I read your description and Im pretty sure you plan to do what I was thinking. Definetly add most of your detail in the wings and body since it is the most visible and seen part of the bird. Other than that the over all is fine :).

You could define the feet abit more, they look abit blocky they could be textured better. But anyway alpha-ing those wings will really bring this one to life well done :)

Here is an update for today I did more texture work. Im not 100% on the texture yet. I re did the feet texture and add alpha to the wings and tail. Oh and changed the color. let me know what you think.

-Zerafian, Thanks for the comment

-mayanoob, Thanks for the comment, as for adding more detail in the feet as far as polys go the model is going to be so small on the screen like 5 pixels "guessing" as far as in game goes the detail would never be seen.

That looks real good, I like the poses you have there. And the feet on the red one look alot better than on the bluebird...
