ggg ugly fatty oldman :D but anyway... good work. I would refine better the nose. I see something extrange, dont you?

11-25-2002, 09:10 PM
Strange???...................It's a caricature. It's supposed to be somewhat strange...........the nose is spot on perfect as caricature noses go. In what way is it strange to you Whiteblazer.Point it out, because I am seeing nothing at all wrong.

Once again Mandrake.............Great job........

11-25-2002, 09:11 PM

Great model. If im not wrong it looks as thought you spent alot if time around the eye area of the face; With the bump mapping and such, i say go around the whole charactwer and put the same attention to every detail, especially more in the mouth area. I would say that the chin looks "odd" and even though the person may loko like that, you stll have the artistic ability to change it of course. Im almost thinking that its not the model, but the pose, and the lighting in the scene. Nothing wrong with both, but it could be a tiny bit better.

Anybody else see this or am i mad?

11-26-2002, 12:57 AM
I love this image you post, Keep post up. :applause: :applause:

Awsome !!

11-26-2002, 01:11 AM
Could you post some wires?? I would love to see your topology. The caricature is great!! Keep up the good work.

11-26-2002, 01:32 AM
Whoa calm down there Virtuoso, i was just poiting that little thing out, wondering if anybody else saw it, no need to take offense.

11-26-2002, 01:32 AM
Im really impressed. I'de like to know if when you do texture maps, do you use hi-res facial maps as a base, or is all of your work photoshop/wacom tablet work. Im particulary blown away by the details of his "crows feet" and other parts of the eye orbit.

Great work, and definately a 5 star piece.

11-26-2002, 02:39 AM
I have to say I love the model.
And thanx big time, Mandrake for posting the bump and colour maps. I think this really helps us mere-mortals learn so much more from the gods of mapping and texturing..
There's definately not enough sharing in the community when it comes to these easily passed on skills

11-26-2002, 02:55 AM
This is real nice, wonderful job

I have a question ... why do you have a lighter skin color on the forehad at the same place you have some lighter color on the bump map becase I dont see where the lighter color shows up on the forehead in the render

11-26-2002, 03:25 AM
HOW the heckkkkkkkkk did u make the map and the bump?? did u create it?

11-26-2002, 05:18 AM
did you use poly's or nurbs or what?

Transform Gizmo
11-26-2002, 07:25 AM
wow. how long did it take you to paint those textures?

11-26-2002, 08:43 AM
Hey, that`s cooooooool

Anyway, are you the same Mandrake I was working with at Philos?

11-26-2002, 09:53 AM
Well..........I love it!!!!! I hope he's going to meet Ivanimal's character in some kind of stupid fight.....and btw, I haven't seen any comment by Ivanimal:rolleyes:
Great work
PS : how was your coffee?:surprised

11-26-2002, 10:02 AM
Nice work;)

But I think that there should be specular/glossiness map too!

I m really missing any changes in speculars:eek:

Anyway good work.

11-26-2002, 10:44 AM
Wow! This is excellent mandrake!!!

I missed the thread! Great!
I don't know why the other post you did before wasn't as replied as this one?!? Very nice work on it too!?

Here is the link for people who missed it:

Very nice work Mandrake! Impatient to see the show!!!! :bounce:

You received the CgJoke! Feel free to say: what is this shit with 3 diamonds?!? :D :D

Mr Fudge
11-26-2002, 01:03 PM
Excellent caricature.

I was also wondering if they were nurbs or polys. Initially I thought they must be nurbs. Had another look though. I think you can see the facets on the chin, so they must be polys.

Also I agree. A specular map would just give it just that extra 5% more realism despite the fact it's a caricature.

Still great work though.

hey mandrake, have you thought about another caricature? I know a guy you can make, an easy one, you won't have to exaggerate anything, just model him as he look. it will still look really funny, the guy I'm talking about is ofcourse totitch.. who else..
