Ok, this space is reserved for the updated wip each time...theoretically speaking :D

Ok, so I just started on this today really. Thusly it is really rough and untitled and such...let's hope it survives :D .
This is the initial sketch. There are two versions because I still haven't decided on the color of the Lady's dress. Also, I'm not completely sure what to do with the area in the lower right. ...suggestions, critique, comments, anything really is fair game :D

Vahn: Very funny...lol...And thanks for the coment... I'll keep the umbrella thing in mind
So I've mainly been working on the figure. If anyone knows of any good cloth tuts, feel free to send them my way...or any good photographs of riding habits. I'm still playing with the idea of making the white on the neck and some on the cuffs lace, but I don't know if I can get that kind of detail on there... *shrug*
And here is a close up of the face so far...I think the ear needs redoing...

I've been letting the figure sit a bit and worked on the sky and the distant mountains

No comments?...good gravy! ...Ya' know I am posting this so I can get some feedback and improve/fix stuff as I go.

I like your idea and it's shaping up nicely. I think the horse's neck looks a little weird though - too regular of an arch from shoulders to skull. They're a touch more angular in the transition from neck to skull methinks.
Proportionally, I think the horse's head is a tad too small too and the legs a weensy bit long. :D
There should probably be more mass to his near "pectoral" muscle too.
I like your sense of space and the handling of the cloth. This should be really nice once you're done!

beautiful colours, just one thing about the lady, i think her torso is too far forward and too low for her legs. other then that this looks absolutly beautiful, keep going !

nice colors and composition, I think the horse neck is very big lol makes me to remember a giraphe. great work so far.

heres a good tutorial from linda :
Im still a little bit afraid...but when i look closely at your horse i gotta say.. the detail on the head is very nice now :D

Yay for some feedback! I'm writing all of it down so I can have it near me while working.
Yeah...you guys are definately right about the horse's neck and such...
Vahn: Thanks for finding that tut!! :) :)

Sorry I've been away. I took a bit of a break from this when school started back up... and after letting it sit, I really didn't like the pose very much... so I fiddled around with it and ended up with this...hmm... Anyways, the guy holding the umbrella couldn't keep up with a galloping horse so he's out.
Here's the initial lay in:
Thoughts, opinions, mindless rambleings?
