very nice mood. Would you have thought about putting one firefly in the foreground with detail though? Maybe in front of the girl and have the girl look at it as if to admire it. I thought of this just because you have named it firefly. Also the right arm of the girl looks a bit too long. Wish you the best in it's completion.

hehe thank you for replying now then let me point some things out cause i just realized they might not show up quite so easily... the girl IS the firefly. in the darkness to the right of her are two wings... she's taking a rest on the leaf of a flower....
*sighs* sounds so much better in my head but ah well
anywho thanks for pointing out the arm and for the suggestions!!
think i might drop in a few flowers near the mushroom and some sillouhettes...

reopened this picture not too long ago, decided it was about time to start fiddlin again after lettin is lay for so long. lotsa changes! for one i made it big enough to use as my wallpaper so it's pretty big now hehe! anywho, i've been working on the background... adding in an actual sky and more flowers like i had originally planned... i'm slowly making each dot of light into lanterns for the other fireflies so she's not the only one. fiddled with her as well, changes in the lips and shading and so on and so on.... in the end.... you just need to look.... i've tried so hard to get the anatomy right so please bear that in mind.......
since the image has become so big... yeah... click the lil piccy! as always C&C is welcome and would be very much apreciated!

tay update time! alright here's the full picture at 25%
and heres a closeup of the main firefly's face
after that save i added in a little choker and i like the jewel so much i think i'm going to keep it but here THAT is...
and then lastly is the other involved firefly
right now the entire picture at 100% is 3556x2844x200dpi and i still need to upsize it to 300dpi... it's how i work on big projects, first i sketch it out then i work on it in 72 unntil all i'd be doing in a higher res is just tweaking it. but anywho yeah... thanks for looking everyone who has... i would very much apreciate any comments someone might have

I'd pump up the yellows a little bit. If you're using PhotoShop and in case you shouldn't know about it. Go to Image and I guess Adjustments and then probably something like selective correction (sorry my version is in French ....). Then choose yellows and make the yellows more yellow and anyway make some tests.
I would like to see much more light and much more yellow tones in this one. Even the blues could be a bit darker and slightly more saturated. But I like your image very much so far.

Photographer: Thanks for the suggestions! i'll see about pumpin up the yellows a bit in the end and i did a bit more with the background blues, hope it looks better!!
anywho yeah, heres the update, edited the jewel a bit cause i realized the yellow light was coming from the wrong direction so yeah... edits to the thigh and added some ladybugs! ^_____^
heres a close up on the lace since i did a bit of work on it
C&C very much welcome

Hi again :)
The composition definately looks much much better like this
But the colors - well, it's probably my personal taste - more saturation, more contrast and more yellow !

Do you know this thread ? I thought you may perhaps find some inspiration there :

nice mood~maybe her neck is slightly too long as well as her chest alil too high~:)perhaps u could make the outline of her lips alil less obvious~its pretty nice overall

Photographer: Thanks, i'll see about the yellow but i'm trying to keep this picture kinda cold in the color range. i checked out that thread too, thanks for the link :)
sh@ke : hey thanks for looking! i follow alot of your threads, even if i'm a bit shy to say anuything, and i really respect your work. anyway, i tried your suggestion with her lips and i think they look a bit better now.... with her neck, i have a pretty long neck myself so it's kinda hard for me to tell when it's too long, though i've been trying to adjust..
SO! other changes i made, i changed the mushroom color but i'm probably going to go back and make it more into the blue range of the reds to fit it in better with the rest of the picture, cause like i said i'm trying to keep the colors kinda cool.... also messed with a few other things but i forgot....
anywho here is

i did some big changes to the hands and scooted the head down a bit cause i realized that even MY neck isn't that long so yeah... i'd show the update but i'm outta town for the weekend...
but anywho! thanks for the replies, it's very encouraging.
