View Full Version : MTOR Light Adaptors Question

12 December 2005, 03:15 PM
Ok I have asked this in the prman open forums and I got no answer, but I am hopefull asking here simply because of the simple fact; I get answers
So on to the question I have attached a sample scene file.
Basically I have 3 lights, and I attach em to light adaptors that are activated based on the displayname.
Now from what I gather display name can be the primary OR secondary (Aovs).
So I go about making a simple aov and call em the respective names
But unfortunately when one renders only the red seems to work and all the other colors do not.
thanks in advance

AOVs are rendered within the same pass, so adaptors can't switch between lights in the same pass. You can only switch the lights in different passes. You could try attaching a reference mapgen, set a context (ex: blue), and change the light adaptor's controller to context. Or you could create your own spotlight template that took the AOV variables into account.
