View Full Version : Very low poly head (308 faces)

My first pimp here. be kind :)
well, with 308 polygons on this primary LOD head, I think I must be doing something right.
Time: 3 hours aprox. (an hour each evening for 3 days)
Prog: max 3.1
Tech: 3 spline silhouettes then converted to mesh points and then filled in with square polygons, while adding additional points where needed.
Skin: applied with UVW cylindrical, thats it!
Crits welcomed, I know theres a good hour of work to be done on the skin alignment. It's one of many people I am making, thanks to the kind folks that sent me thier mugs. His name is dale! Please be kind to him, hes a real person.

Wow, man, I'd love to see textures like that in QuakeIII. I'd say that was a pretty successful use of 308 faces. Looks like a fun mod, too.

get rid of that point on the top of the head

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Ephesus. Get rid of the point at the top of the head and that would be my final suggestion.
I like the lighting in your maps for the game btw. Pretty cool use and distribution.

looking great so far.. (especially with 3hrs work) I don't have to say "lose the point on top of his head" because everyone else already has.
The orange ears need hue-tweaking to get 'em back inline with the rest of his face though.
