I'm looking for a nice way to create realistic water in a bathtub. I'm planning to put something in the water aswell so the reflections need to look sharp. If you have any tips or tutorial resources whatsoever, please share them.

Btw, here is the pic.

edit: do not mind the red crosses in the picture.

What's with the red x's all over the place? Also are you looking for a shader type of water or actual water that you can simulate dynamicly.

Basic Setting for water are

Color - 100%, whatever color you prefer
Transparency, I usually set to 50% refraction 1.33. Fresnel turned on as well
Reflection 50% And Fresnel in the texture
Normally you would use bump, but water inside a bathtub would be still. So no waves or anything needed.

Try these, and play around with the colours and values until it looks the way you want.

make a plane for the surface

make a new material

apply a water shader (texture -> surfaces -> water)

use the water surface shader in the bump or displacement channel
add high specularity and make almost completely transparent

the water shader can be animated
