What's the best way to create eyelash when i'm planning on animating a face?

Is there a way of linking the eyelid movement and deformation to another object (eyelashes)? or is there a better way of doing this? Should I boolean the 2 objects and create a multi sub/object material.

I use Max4.

The easy way: Use a hair-generation program/plugin.

The hard way: Model a few lashes, copy and paste them over an over along the top lid. When you are done, just mirror them down to the bottom lid.

Since the eyelashes are in the eyelids, just make the morphs for the eyelids and the eyelashes will follow.
