Hello there

How might I go making fire inside a barrel without the spreading outside of the barrels side? E.G there are constraints the fire must stay within. Thanks alot for your future help!

Well, you have a couple of options. One would be to use fluids and an appropriately sized container, but unless you have a good grasp of fluids, this may not be an option. The other option is to create an invisible cylinder inside your barrel that would be used as a collision object for whatever particle shape you would want to use for you fire. You would adjust the size of this cylinder to prevent particle shapes from protruding through the barrel's surface.

Thanks alot for your help alphajoe

2byts, Not sure on the renderer, this is a group project and I was actually asking for help on behalf of someone else, I expect it will be with Maya Software though.
