another idea i've toyed around with was an auto stretch/squash. when the foot reaches a certain y value (0) it scale the foot bone from 100% to 150% on the x axis. i've done this using user data but to have it auto funtion would save alittle.

any ideas

can you explain a little more on what you mean by "auto" I know you can make stretchy limbs with cdik tools.

You might be better off using a morph for that, no? It's not going to squash that mucha and using a bone for that might cause some problems.

You might try hooking something up with the distance Node in Xpresso.

Here’s one way of doing this.

The object stops moving at the defined threshold while the parent null keeps moving. Scaling is driven by the movement of the null below the threshold. The Strength settings determine the amount of scaling on each axis per unit of null movement. Outputs resulting from negative Strength values are clamped at zero.
