I have primarily been using maya(for animaton) for the past 4 and half years...
Just recently discovered Messiah...
quite impressed with the set up abilities...
but how i could go about getting a juicy rig like marek's(with auto secondaries, stretchy ik's etc)...i have no clue...does it involve scripting????
Having used maya yourself...Will you be able to give me a comparison in terms of setting up terms of ,how difficult it is......

P.s::)OK!here is the truth im jittery as hell about shifting software...I'm gonna have to ...cos cant afford i guess im just trying to see if Messiah is worth the money i am gonna spend...

I think messiah is definateley worth it's money.

I've been wroking with Lightwave for almost two years now, and only purchased messiah last week. I also ordered the rigging tutorials from Joe Cosman ( ( ), and have set up my first rig in messiah in no time : just 1 day with expressions and muscle bones. Those vids are definately worth their money and I'm gonna order the other 3 vids any time soon for sure.
And it's a breeze compared with my experiences with rigging so far!

I know nothing of Maya, but I know you will not be dissapointed with messiah.
When you search through this forum, you will see that there are some things in messiah that could and should improve. That's the case in ALL software.
But those minor annoyances do NOT outwheigh the benefits of messiah, not by a long shot!

Make sure you download the demo of messiah here : ( .
Play around with it and be assured.
