View Full Version : dragon type creature model
Ya, I know its not realy a dragon but I have no clue how else to describe it. It is for practise in modeling and texturing. the model is 4654 tris and is made in maya. comments welcome.
I really like the concept. I imagine this creature also walks with the front legs. Right now it looks like the arms are hanging a bit. But looking at the body structure I would say he walks with four legs. You might want to make the front arms look stronger to help the weight of the neck a bit. I really like the concept. I am not much for organic modeling so I have no idea if this will deform right.

Looking good! I like the Rino head/nose it's a different spin on the same old dragon look =)
- The model is unballanced. Too much weight in the front and not enough counter ballance in the rear/tail section.
- Make sure to logically place the wings (if you add wings) don't just stick them jutting out of the shoulder blades because that would be anotomically wrong.
- The shoulder/arm transition seems off, he has these big shoulder blades on his back yet the arms seem disconnected from the shoulder blades? You might need to look up some referance of lions, or other 4 legged animals to help fix this.
Good stuff, keep up the great work!

looks nice, sorta reminds me of the first documented dinosaur, which they believed to be some sort of dragon, later they re-arranged the bones to make the iguandon
heres a few minor tweaks. made the tail longer and the front arms a bit bigger and tweaked the shoulder. this is meant to be some sort of mount for another character I am making. It runs on all fours but occasionally stands on its hind legs, kinda like a bear or a gorilla. I dont think I will add wings tho, hes not supposed to be that kind of dragon.

Hey this is great! Some small, vestigial wings would be neat, they could be like a form of ornamentation/mating ritual type thing or whatever? I really like the chopped horns too, though I agree that something about the creature's weight and balance is just slightly off - maybe he needs a longer/thicker tail?

Very nice. I really like the idea of both running in four legs but also being able to stand in two... Not something usual to see in games.
The only thing that i dont really like is the tail... Its kind of short and ends very abruptely, with a huge "bump" on the top... Maybe if it ended smoother and/or was longer it would look better... just a little thought...
