View Full Version : Tips for Instanced geometry in MR

I'm trying to render a scene with hundreds of instances of an original mesh. MR seems to be spitting out all sorts of warning messages and taking a long time to render. I'm using GI and FG in Maya 7. Are there any general issues to look out for with instances in MR?

Using grid acceleration instead of bsp sometimes helps when doing instancing. Paolo Berto wrote about it here:
