View Full Version : Render check list?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone uses a check list when setting up and testing renders before the final all out render. Especially anyone who creates photoreal product renderings with Maya/Mental Ray. I'm asking because I tend to tweak the same settings over multiple times and I know there's got to be a better way to go about it. Would you be willing to share your list? I would really appreciate it.

are you talking about keeping seperate settings for different passes you might create in maya? I usually save a preset in the render globals. I went to a maya/fusion event a week or two ago in london and they were demo'ing a bit of maya7 and that looks alot more flexible with its xsi-styleee render passes - you can fire out matte channels, shadow passes all sorts but in a much cleaner manner and override all kinds of material and render quality/size/aa settings - its looking really good :)

No, I'm aware of the preset render globals and render passes.

I was more interested in someone's system of checks or a list of the settings they tweak and mark before a final render.

Similar to this check list for geometry export:

I'm looking for one that list shader settings, render global settings, or whatever someone uses when they set up a render. Kind of like a workflow list.

Thanks for responding.
