View Full Version : Glow behind Alpha

When I have a plane with an alpha, the glow behind it unveils my whole plane. Does somebody know a workaround for this? See picture. The following link, for some reason is NOT working on my computer, please copypaste instead of clicking:

glow behind alpha is not supported yet in ar.

i hope it will be added in future, but right now it does not work in c4d.

The workaround is to render your objects separately then comp them in AE or something.

Aside from compositing 2 renders in photoshop,
you can also subdivide the alpha plane and knock out
the areas you don't need by deleting points and polys.

not sure what you are stenciling with the alpha but it might be worth a try to use the alpha in the transparency channel ---

Why is there exactly an alpha AND a transparency channel? Isn't alpha all about transparency? What is the difference?

Well, alpha is only a matter of simple opacity, whereas transparency involves actual refraction and/or colour tinting etcetera. So they are certainly quite different things.
