hey all again, i am currently texturing a kirin colossus, base off of (my own)concept from the hit game shadow of colossus, so here is some shot, this is for a on going contest from gamingartist.com, enjoy

I really need to see the concept to understand exactly where you are heading with this. The texture is very confusing.

basically, its a hybird of both of these concept, because every colossus from the actually game shares the same visual style, but at the same time, they each have their own differences. hopefully, they will kind of clear this up.

Hey I wanted to make a colossi as well, but the problem was thinking of a gameplay that hadn't already been made for the other 16.
Anyway this looks like it's on the right track. I recommend using tiling textures and vertex painting to blend them togheter, or use higher resolution textures.

Looks great, fits in perfectly with the other Colossus's (dunno how you type it plural).
Only thing to point out right now is that the mouth area seems a bit blurry/low res from the shots shown.

i am a little lazy tonight, because magna carta came out today YEAAAAA, anyway, here my 2hrs photoshop update, just want to post this before i enter the world of magna carta, so enjoy

my usually 3am post, finished the legs, moving on to the rest of the fur texturing tomorrow, and it should be done, well sleep time for me, so enjoy.

yeah im another keen ico2 cantwaitiwishtheywouldhurryupandreleaseit person.
i like your model, but i think you need to add alot more detail to the bare rock areas, they stick out as well bare. i think as a hopefull texture arist you could cram some more pattern work on to it, looking at the concepts i think some rock scales might work, maybe get some marble trim in there.

the front feet look a little small/weak. other than that, its looking pretty cool :)

you've really captured Shadow of the Colossus [BUT] it's not as convincing, something about SOTF reminds me of puppets now I don't know much of what the game is about other then looking at a few screens but although you captured the look your character lacks the puppet life of SOTF
I'm sorry for not weeding out this problem in more detail, I'm not really presenting much of a solution :rolleyes: maybe you could just disregard my comments

i actually think i know what u r saying, i think i have to fix that after i finish everything, cause right now i feel that the character its all too yellow, i need to go back and tune the color of the texture to a more greenish color to match the atmosphere of the game, (i think that what u mean?)

here it is done and done, i added some lighting in there, to make it feel more in game, i am going to tweak the light tomorrow morning, and give u guys a beauty final render, for now this would have to do, since its 4am in the morning, later.

Nice man! Really want to join that comp but I gotta get ready for my big move from NYC to CA. I think I've told you this before over at gamingartist but your work is improving at a very rapid rate!
