View Full Version : MRay dielectric_material and caustics

Is there a quick tutorial, or if anyone can help with adding caustic to MRay dielectric_material?
Adding only spot light with caustic on and turning it on in rendering globals doesnt make them so.. there is probably some other way to turn them on.

no thats right, just set the mr gloabals to preview caustics and make sure you turn on emit photons from your light and it should be ok. Also place a photon shader in the phonton slot in the materials SG node, or just drag and drop the same material in there.

it has to work. did you connect the dielectric_material_photon to the material's photon shader slot?

That was it... dielectric_material_photon.
I really don't have any experience with MRay materials, just started to play with them, with DGS and dielectric first and don't have much clue about how mray amterials work.
Do you guys know any goot tutorals where I can find all that stuff?
