View Full Version : show translate value in viewport

I'm not that good in scrpit writing, so this may sound silly, but how can I show a numeric value (or a string) in the viewport? (like the distance tool shows the distance value)
For example, I want to make a sphere, and display the translateX under it. I managed to do it with creating a text, and every time I move the object, the old text is deleted and a new one created, but the playback is very slow. Any ideas?

Channelbox not good enough for ya ? ;-)

Anyway - look into creating HUDs for stuff like that.

HE! Kind of silly, but I found a solution that works pretty fine with numeric values:
Cteata a single particle, change the type to Numeric, add an attribute that takes the desired value and use it in the Attribute Name....
So silly, it's almost embarrassing. :)
