I have been having trouble getting materials to mix on my tape measure model. Its a high-detail gig using HDR for lighting/reflections. The ridges and other low-level detail is done with bump maps and while I had trouble getting the mix-materials option to work, I know have the ubiquidous chrome material and different bump materials working together correctly. When I try to add my label to the front side however, I get strange coloring when the chrome/label mix together.
It appears that the color is being multiplied rather than mixed in the way that I want. I've tried using the alpha channel on the label but that affects the transparency of the geometry, not of that particular material. Any help would be much appreciated. I'll throw a screenshot of the problem up ASAP.
