View Full Version : Matching bottle photo

I'm hoping someone can help me. I've been trying to match the look of a bottle from a photo. I need it to be memory efficient since I will be creating a display with many bottles in it. I have come pretty close (highlights don't have to be exact) but I am having problems with the color of the glass. Right now I have a sky object in the scene which is giving the glass it's green color. I have tried putting green in the color channel and also putting color in the transparency channel with poor results. I have read some posts in the tips and tricks section suggesting using normal direction (formerly Buffy) with fusion and I thought that may help but I cannot figure it out. I have an HDRI image in the environment channel and I have Normal Direction for the texture in the Specular Color channel (Something I picked up from a 3D Fluff DVD) Is this the best way to go? Any help would be much appreciated.

check out this tut:
the last paragraph shows how to create a coloured (red) glass. maybe this will help.
