View Full Version : MEL Studio LE

Hey guys, I just purchased, the Art of Rigging volume 1 and am having some troubles setting up MEL STUDIO LE. First, I went to to get the demo and I installed it. I checked for updates and got version 1.02. I installed it, telling the program that I have 6.0 when I actually have Maya 7.0. I've read that these guys have updated the program so that it will work in 7.0, but when I go to load it up in the plug in editor, i recieve the error:

// Error: Plug-in, "melStudio" was compiled against too old a version of the Maya API and is thus incompatible with the current Maya version. (melStudio)

Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial or give me some help for installing this plug in for Maya 7?

This won't be of much help, but I downloaded the demo and it works without problems with Maya 7  I have MEL Studio LE version 1.1.0, also downloaded from the Digimation site.

Is this the correct demo file to use MEL Studio LE?

That is version 1.02 and it will not let me pick 7.0 when it asks me what version I'm using before I actually download the file. It seems this version is incompatible with 7.0, or maybe I'm missing something?

I have downloaded the version from this URL:
During installation it asks you to choose whatever Maya version you wish between 4.5 and 7.0. And works perfectly well.

Thank you! It worked! =)

This plugin looks very interesting.

I was going to shell out some $$$ for editPlus, but this looks more beneficial in my MEL journey.

Has digimation just stopped offering the LE version...? I myself looked all over their site and can't find it anywhere, and the above links are broken. :(

Hi, I downloaded MEL Studio LE recently from the website

At first, I couldn't find it but it's on the left column under "Downloads and Demo".

You need to login in order to have access.

I'm glad to hear more people are using it. This is my favorite Mel IDE right now.

I especially like that it's easy to update the syntax file, and they compile new versions for different versions of Maya constantly.
