View Full Version : TGA Alphas and Depth map shadow pass

Hey, I'm using maya 6.5. I'm having a problem with my depth map shadows.
I've set a 32bit targa with an alpha to emulate these iron bars that cover the window. But if you look at the shadows, it actually shows that the shadow being cast is the geometry itself.

I assume I just have to set up some different shadow passes, but being a game artist... I'm not too familiar with it. :P

you have to use ray tracing

You can use depth map shadows, if you use mental Ray with 'detail' shadow maps in the Render Globals.
