wouldn't it be nice to have all the mental ray shaders floating around the
net and in this forum listed on highend 3d's new maya mental ray shader section?
this way it would be a lot easier to keep track of 'em.

I would recommend this too. Would be a great resource and highend is offering a nice place to store the shaders. Also the comment function could be used to describe the basic usage by other users so the developers just have to put the shaders there :)

What are the developers like francescaluce (http://member.php?u=7054), Pixero (http://member.php?u=12000) think about this?

he3d also has an maya update rss-feed now, so
one can track additions/changes even easier.

I agree..

However, I feel the "new" is also a cluttered mess. I understand they tried to make it easier to use and find things, but all its done for me is making very difficult. Before, I used to be able to pop on, find the script I needed and leave. Now, I have to sift through several pages, the search isn't all that great and there is all sorts of banners in between search items. The site has become very difficult to maneuver through. I really wish they would not have changed it.

yeah I'm not so thrilled by the new layout either. It's kind of confusing. :(
