View Full Version : Connection node problem.

10 October 2005, 07:59 AM
I'm making an small measurement tool. (really small). Well, I want to show a number in the viewport (like measurement tool) with an annotation node. “My number” is the output of a MultiplyDivide node. When I try to connect this to an input of node annotation, I get an error of type of variable (obvious), because the output is a number and the input is a string. Any fix with mel?

thanks (and sorry for my english)

you can do it in an expression. setAttr -type "string" annObj.text $collectedValue; also, use something to ensure the epxression is pulled when manipulating, eg, annObj.v = 1; you could also use a HUD instead, or a particle object with one particle with numeric display.
