Just curious how I can get the alpha transparency of a map to show up in the viweport of max. Some textures I use show up with transparency and some don't...what gives? thanks guys!

Do your texture include a alpha channel ?

if so drag your texture to the opacity channel and tjeck Mono Channel Output to alpha

hope it helps

yeah, i've got an alpha with my map, and everything works fine when I render, I just want to be able to see the transparency in the viewport....which some textures show and some you have to render to see it

I think you go into the opacity channel and toggle "show in viewport" button on, then toggle "show in viewport" button for the material. That should work.
