i wanted to show my old-new head. The first pic is a recent head i made, which has some shapes and poly flow i like, but its still buggy.
the second one is more optimized and i tried to delete polys not describing a area necessary.
i wonder if any of those is good and id appreciate to hear some crits.
oh and ye in the second one the eyes look weird, perhaps i have to push them in a bit more

Heads are really hard aren't they? Still, what you've done isn't bad at all, though I do agree with you that the eyes need to be pushed back a little.
For some reason your model reminds me of the 'Muranon Tutorial Head (http://www.muranon.com/axel/character/tutorial_1/index.html)'. I don't know if you have this tutorial or if you're following it, but I think it might help you:

I think this mesh looks pretty darn good. For the low poly count you have captured the details needed in an efficent manner.

Looks pretty good to me.
I think the face itself may be too tall. His eyes should be a bit lower, which would squish everything else down a wee bit.
His nose/upper lip seems a bit odd from the side, but that's just general preference.

i agree about upper lip, although it could just be a weak chin, if you wanrt togo for a stronger jaw just move the lower lip chin forwrds a wee bit.
The ear seems to be too far ahead of the jaw. It's more like this from someone else's model on this forum.

well ive done some corrections but .. im just a too big coward to make extreme changes ^^
i might have to push the changes a bit more into obviousness (i dont think thats an english word :P)
edit: oh i see i need to make a before/after pic -.-

The only thing that strikes me is the forehead. Can't quite put my finger on it, but just have a feeling that something is amiss in that region. A tad bit too round perhaps? Or maybe the slope should be more gradual... I'm not really helping, am I? =P
Ahwell, maybe it'll help someone else pinpoint the problem... ;P Again, great work ^^

hehe well maybe the edited-in wireframe helps you to pinpoint the problem, i lowered it a bit. i think it should be more straight at first .. dunno
just for the record, the model formerly (sorry for that word) was a jack sparrow likeness attempt.. which was modified. the textures where just some cuttogethers and .. no unwrap done just planar map ^^ old pic.. too much self illum ..
