Impressive work google monkey!:bounce: I like the layout and elements of the scene! Keep it up!
btw: what 3D application did u use to render it?

still need to do a lot of work on it, mountain range in the background and so on, details in the castle (torches or interior lights and so on). Also more details in the forest or trees in the foreground.

Cool stuff Luke! That's a very uge castle man! ;)
I like the last images better than the first ones, as the first ones have very much (tóó much!) contrast. With nighty stuff it seems to be always good to keep low contrast, and maybe in the dark parts some more contrast... (with a curve-color-correction tool you can do that really easy and good!) Also use low saturation, and colorcorrect the stuff a bit blueish. Then you have the ultimate nightshot! ;)
I don't know in how far you have done such stuff yet, but in every case it may help you... ;)
Have fun! I'll be watching! :)

hey google monkey
Nice castle , who did you modelled that castel in Vue 5?

Its the Medieval castle free model produced by the amazingly talented Luca Rodolfi.
I checked the fxwars rules and you are allowed to use a pre existing model if you have the rights to.

The landscape is just a procedural one, bascially sculpted with a eco system material used on it with a night time clouds atmosphere. The clouds will be animated, still have to add fog and mist and some other effects. Not sure wether to go the 2d or 3d route with it. Its only going to be a 5-10 seconds overhead shot. Rewatched The Haunting (1999 version) for a few ideas, ie overhead shots of the house.

Orginally it was 10 seconds in length, render was taking to long so could only render 6 seconds worth. Final version with sound is only 8 seconds in length.
